Abstract:
A food product for reheating prior to consumption. A bread or pastry shell (401) is formed with a cavity (402) that contains an edible filling (403). The cavity is closed with a closure (405) formed of a sponge mix including a heat-activated rising agent. The shell may be formed from dough that is cooked by steaming or by baking, and may be frozen prior to being filled with the edible filling.
