Abstract:
(EN) The technology relates to a remote ischemic preconditioning system having a cuff configured to contract about a limb of a subject; an actuator connected to the cuff that, when actuated, causes the cuff to contract about the limb of the subject; a controller that controls the actuator to operate according to a treatment protocol that includes a plurality of treatment cycles of contracting and releasing the cuff about the limb of a subject; a first sensor for measuring oxygen saturation level in the blood of the limb; a second sensor for measuring a pulse property in the limb; and a feedback control unit in communication with the controller and configured to receive the oxygen saturation measurement from the first sensor and the pulse property from the second sensor; wherein the feedback control unit is further configured to: compare the oxygen saturation level to a first predetermined value and signal the controller to operate the actuator to further inflate the cuff if the oxygen saturation level is above the predetermined value; and compare the pulse property to a second predetermined value and signal the controller to operate the actuator to further inflate the cuff if the pulse rate or pulse strength is above the predetermined value.
(FR) L’invention concerne un système de préconditionnement ischémique à distance ayant un manchon conçu pour se contracter autour d'un membre d'un sujet ; un actionneur relié au manchon qui, lorsqu'il est actionné, amène le manchon à se contracter autour du membre du sujet ; un dispositif de commande qui commande l'actionneur afin qu'il fonctionne selon un protocole de traitement qui comprend une pluralité de cycles de traitement de contraction et de relâchement du manchon autour du membre du sujet ; un premier capteur servant à mesurer le niveau de saturation en oxygène dans le sang du membre ; un second capteur servant à mesurer une propriété de pouls dans le membre ; et une unité de commande de rétroaction en communication avec le dispositif de commande et conçue pour recevoir la mesure de saturation en oxygène provenant du premier capteur et la propriété de pouls provenant du second capteur ; l'unité de commande de rétroaction étant en outre conçue pour : comparer le niveau de saturation en oxygène à une première valeur prédéterminée et signaler au dispositif de commande de faire fonctionner l'actionneur pour gonfler davantage le manchon si le niveau de saturation en oxygène est supérieur à la valeur prédéterminée ; et comparer la propriété de pouls à une seconde valeur prédéterminée et signaler au dispositif de commande de faire fonctionner l'actionneur pour gonfler davantage le manchon si la fréquence cardiaque ou l'intensité du pouls est supérieure à la valeur prédéterminée.
