Title: METHOD FOR PRODUCING POLYARYLENE SULFIDE AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING POLYARYLENE SULFIDE
Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing PAS that can recover the dihaloaromatic compound and hydrogen sulfide that can volatilize during water removal from the gas phase of a gas-liquid system that contains a gas phase containing water, the dihaloaromatic compound, and hydrogen sulfide and a liquid phase containing a polar organic solvent and PAS. Also provided is an apparatus for producing PAS. The method for producing PAS according to the present invention comprises: a condensation step for providing, through condensation from the aforementioned gas phase in the gas-liquid system, a first intermediate gas phase containing the dihaloaromatic compound and hydrogen sulfide and a first intermediate liquid phase containing water, the dihaloaromatic compound, and a sulfur source; a first recovery step in which the first intermediate gas phase is brought in to contact with a polar organic solvent to provide a first recovered gas phase containing hydrogen sulfide and a first recovered liquid phase containing the polar organic solvent, the dihaloaromatic compound, and a sulfur source; and a second recovery step in which the first recovered gas phase is brought into contact with an aqueous alkali metal hydroxide solution to provide a second recovered liquid phase containing water, a sulfur source, and alkali metal hydroxide.
