Abstract

A semicrystalline copolyester resin composition formed by twin screw extrusion of various ingredients includes copolyester resins, antiblock, slip and antifog additives. This semicrystalline copolyester resin can be extruded on to PET film or coextruded with PET resin to form clear PET films with antifog properties. These films with antifog properties are produced in a single step without the use of solvent and does not involve any secondary step for coating a separate antifog layer. This minimizes the cost and time required by a converter to make such clear antifog films. These films containing the heat seal copolyester resin can be heat sealed to clear APET trays. Contents within the trays, such as food, can be seen without fogging on the inside of the film that is used to seal the tray. The seals are strong and the peels are smooth giving a very good packaging performance.

La présente invention concerne une composition de résine de copolyester semi-cristallin formée par extrusion à deux vis de divers ingrédients comprenant des résines de copolyester, des additifs anti-adhérents, de glissement et antibuée. Cette résine de copolyester semi-cristallin peut être extrudée sur un film de PET ou co-extrudée avec une résine de PET de sorte à former des films de PET transparents présentant des propriétés antibuée. Ces films présentant des propriétés antibuée sont produits en une seule étape sans utiliser de solvant et n'impliquent pas d'étape secondaire destinée à revêtir une couche antibuée séparée. Ceci réduit au minimum le coût et le temps requis par un convertisseur en vue de fabriquer de tels films antibuée transparents. Ces films contenant la résine de copolyester thermoscellable peuvent être thermoscellés sur des plateaux APET transparents. Des contenus à l'intérieur des plateaux, tels que des aliments, peuvent être vus sans embuage sur l'intérieur du film qui est utilisé pour sceller le plateau. Les scellements sont résistants et les feuilles sont lisses, ce qui confère une très bonne performance d'emballage.
