Abstract

A system can have an x-ray source that generates a series of individual x-ray pulses for multi-energy imaging. A first x-ray pulse can have a first energy level and a subsequent second x-ray pulse in the series can have a second energy level different from the first energy level. An x-ray imager can receive the x-rays from the x-ray source and can detect the received x-rays for image generation. A generator interface box (GIB) controls the x-ray source to provide the series of individual x-ray pulses and synchronizes detection by the x-ray imager with generation of the individual x-ray pulses. The GIB can control x-ray pulse generation and synchronization to optimize image generation while minimizing unnecessary x-ray irradiation.

Un système peut comporter une source de rayons X qui génère une série d’impulsions de rayons X individuelles pour une imagerie multi-énergie. Une première impulsion de rayons X peut avoir un premier niveau d’énergie et une deuxième impulsion de rayons X suivante dans la série peut avoir un deuxième niveau d’énergie différent du premier niveau d’énergie. Un dispositif d’imagerie radiographique peut recevoir les rayons X provenant de la source de rayons X et peut détecter les rayons X reçus pour la génération d’image. Une boîte d’interface de générateur (GIB) commande la source de rayons X pour fournir la série d’impulsions de rayons X individuelles et synchronise la détection par le dispositif d’imagerie à rayons X avec la génération des impulsions de rayons X individuelles. Le GIB peut commander la génération et la synchronisation d’impulsions de rayons X pour optimiser la génération d’image tout en réduisant au minimum l’irradiation de rayons X superflue.
