Abstract:
(EN) A catalytic recombiner and filter apparatus (2), preferably for placement in a containment (4) of a nuclear reactor (6), comprises a natural convection flow duct (8), inside which a number of catalytic elements (18) for recombining hydrogen and oxygen contained in a gas flow through the flow (8) duct are arranged. The catalytic recombiner and filter apparatus (2) is to provide reliable hydrogen reduction and iodine filtering for a gas flow even for a comparatively long period of operation. According to the invention the catalytic recombiner and filter apparatus (2) comprises a number of adsorber elements (24) with iodine adsorbing surfaces (60) and with macroscopic flow channels (28) in between them, wherein the iodine adsorbing surfaces (60) are flown over by the gas flow.
(FR) Un appareil de recombinaison catalytique et de filtration (2), de préférence destiné à être placé dans une enceinte de confinement (4) d'un réacteur nucléaire (6), comprend un conduit d'écoulement par convection naturelle (8), à l'intérieur duquel sont disposés un certain nombre d'éléments catalytiques (18) pour la recombinaison de l'hydrogène et de l'oxygène contenus dans un flux de gaz circulant à travers le conduit d'écoulement (8). L'appareil de recombinaison catalytique et de filtration (2) est destiné à réduire de façon fiable la quantité d'hydrogène et à filtrer l'iode dans un flux de gaz même pendant une période de fonctionnement relativement longue. Selon l'invention, l'appareil de recombinaison catalytique et de filtration (2) comprend un certain nombre d'éléments adsorbants (24) comportant des surfaces d'adsorption d'iode (60), ainsi que des canaux d'écoulement macroscopiques (28) entre lesdites surfaces d'adsorption d'iode, le flux de gaz s'écoulant par-dessus les surfaces d'adsorption d'iode (60).
