Abstract:
(EN) This disclosure relates to ultra-high performance diatomite products possessing very high silica specific volume, a characteristic which provides for high filtration performance, in terms of low unit consumption and long filtration cycle times. These novel products of this disclosure also show very low extractable metals for both the non-acid washed and the high purity (acid washed) grades. These characteristics are of particular value in the separation of solids from high purity liquids in electronic chemical, specialty beverage and life science applications. In addition to outstanding physical and chemical characteristics, these products also contain no detectable levels of cristobalite and have a wide range of permeabilities, and are produced from mineralogically impure ores containing high levels of alumina and iron oxide.
(FR) La présente invention concerne des produits de diatomite à très haute performance possédant un volume spécifique de silice très élevé, une caractéristique qui permet une performance de filtration élevée, en termes de faible consommation unitaire et de temps de cycle de filtration longs. Ces nouveaux produits de la présente invention présentent également des très faibles teneurs en métaux extractibles pour les types à la fois non lavés à l'acide et de haute pureté (lavés à l'acide). Ces caractéristiques sont d'une valeur particulière dans la séparation de solides à partir de liquides de haute pureté dans des applications chimiques électroniques, de boissons spéciales et de sciences de la vie. Outre des caractéristiques physiques et chimiques exceptionnelles, ces produits ne contiennent pas de niveaux détectables de cristobalite et ont une large gamme de perméabilités, et sont produits à partir de minerais minéralogiques impurs contenant des niveaux élevés d'alumine et d'oxyde de fer.
