Title: SURGICAL STAPLE HAVING TWO MOVABLE BRANCHES CONNECTED BY A TRANSVERSE CONNECTING ZONE
Abstract:
The invention relates to a surgical staple defining a median folding zone (152) which is continued by a pair of branches (100, 200), each branch (100, 200) having a pointed fastening end (180, 280) and an intermediate clamping zone situated between the median folding zone (152) and the pointed fastening end (180, 280). The staple is deformable such that each branch can be folded relative to the median folding zone by causing each fastening end to approach the other branch, said staple being formed from a metal cutout which is pre-shaped by folding and is of constant thickness, and the intermediate clamping zones of the two branches are cut out such as to form at least two teeth whose edges form two complementary clamping surfaces parallel to the median plane (151) when the staple is folded, the cross section of the clamping surfaces corresponding to the cross section of the metal cutout.
