Abstract:
The invention concerns a device (1) for joining by welding a first optical fiber (2A) to a second optical fiber (2B), the device (1) comprising: a first support part (6) of an optical fiber (2A, 2B); a second support part (8) of an optical fiber (2A, 2B), movably mounted in relation to the first support part (6); an optical fiber welding module (10); a light source (4); a light intensity measuring member (12); an optocoupler (22), connected to the light source (4) and to the light intensity measuring member (12), and capable of being connected to a free end of the first optical fiber (2A); a module (14) for controlling the movement of the second support part (8) in relation to the first support part (6), between an initial placement position of the first and second optical fibers (2A, 2B), and a welding position detected by the control module (14) for a predetermined variation of the measurement of light intensity.
