Title: METHOD FOR PRODUCING METAL OXIDES BY MEANS OF SPRAY PYROLYSIS
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing a metal oxide powder by means of flame spray pyrolysis, in which method a) a stream of a solution, which contains at least one metal compound that can be oxidized or hydrolyzed, is atomized by means of an atomizer gas into an aerosol, b) said aerosol is caused to react in the reaction chamber of a reactor by means of a flame, which is obtained by igniting a mixture of combustion gas and air, c) the reaction stream is cooled and d) the solid product is then separated from the reaction stream, wherein e) the reaction chamber has one or more successive, double-walled installations, wherein the wall of the double-walled installation facing the flame-guiding region of the reaction chamber has at least one slot, via which a gas or vapor is introduced into the reaction chamber in which the flame burns, and f) the slot is arranged such that said gas or vapor causes a rotation of the flame.
