Abstract:
(EN) An electrocoagulation unit for removing one or more dissolved constituents from an untreated feedstock comprises a non-electrically conductive housing having a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet and an interior surface; a cathode and anode arranged within the housing, the cathode and anode each having an ionizing surface, the ionizing surfaces of the anode and cathode in opposed facing relation so as to define a gap having a separation distance therebetween; the cathode and the anode configured to be electrically coupled to a DC power supply in a DC electrical circuit so as to ionize and dissolve the ionizing surface of the anode; and a controller configured to maintain the separation distance at a set value as the ionizing surface of the anode dissolves. A method for using a plurality of electrocoagulation units in series is also provided.
(FR) La présente invention concerne une unité d’électrocoagulation destinée à retirer un ou plusieurs constituants dissous d’une charge d’alimentation non traitée comprenant un logement non électriquement conducteur ayant un orifice d’entrée de liquide, un orifice de sortie de liquide et une surface intérieure ; une cathode et une anode disposées à l’intérieur du logement, la cathode et l’anode ayant chacune une surface d’ionisation, les surfaces d’ionisation de l’anode et de la cathode en relation opposée de face afin de définir un espace ayant une distance de séparation entre elles ; la cathode et l’anode configurées pour être électriquement branchées à une source d’alimentation d’énergie (DC) dans un circuit électrique (DC) afin d’ioniser et de dissoudre la surface d’ionisation de l’anode ; et un dispositif de commande configuré pour maintenir la distance de séparation à une valeur définie lorsque la surface d’ionisation de l’anode se dissout. La présente invention concerne également un procédé d’utilisation d’une pluralité d’unités d’électrocoagulation en série.
