Abstract:
(EN) High definition maps for autonomous vehicles are very high resolution and detailed, and hence require storage of a great deal of data. A vehicle computing system provides multi-layered caching makes this data usable in a system that requires very low latency on every operation. The system determines which routes are most likely to be driven in the near future by the car, and ensures that the route is cached on the vehicle before beginning the route. The system provides efficient formats for moving map data from server to car and for managing the on-care disk. The system further provides real-time accessibility of nearby map data as the car moves, while providing data access at optimal speeds.
(FR) Les cartes à haute définition pour véhicules autonomes sont de très haute résolution et sont très détaillées, et nécessitent donc le stockage d'une grande quantité de données. L'invention concerne un système informatique de véhicule fournissant une mise en cache multi-couches qui rend ces données utilisables dans un système qui nécessite une très faible latence pour chaque opération. Le système détermine quels itinéraires sont les plus susceptibles d'être parcourus dans le proche avenir par la voiture, et assure que l'itinéraire est mis en cache sur le véhicule avant de commencer l'itinéraire. Le système fournit des formats efficaces permettant de déplacer des données de carte à partir d'un serveur vers une voiture et de gérer le disque sur voiture. Le système fournit en outre une accessibilité en temps réel de données cartographiques proches lorsque la voiture se déplace, tout en fournissant un accès aux données à des vitesses optimales.
