Abstract:
(EN) A continuous reinforced cold water pipe (CWP) for an Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) system is formed from a sequential series of molded pipe sections, which are formed from a series of rigid frame sections and a curable material to form the continuous reinforced CWP. Each molded pipe section is formed by moving a rigid frame section into a mold, enclosing at least a portion of the rigid frame section in the curable material, and curing the curable material. As each molded pipe section is moved out of the mold, the next sequential rigid frame section, which is connected to the previous rigid frame section, is moved into the mold. The cycle is repeated as many times as required to form the continuous reinforced CWP having a desired length.
(FR) L'invention concerne un tuyau d'eau froide (CWP) renforcé en continu destiné à un système de conversion d'énergie thermique de l'océan (OTEC), qui est formé à partir d'une série séquentielle de sections de tuyau moulées, qui sont formées à partir d'une série de sections de cadre rigides et d'un matériau durcissable pour former le CWP renforcé continu. Chaque section de tuyau moulée est formée en déplaçant une section de cadre rigide dans un moule, en enfermant au moins une partie de la section de cadre rigide dans le matériau durcissable, et en durcissant le matériau durcissable. À mesure que chaque section de tuyau moulée est déplacée hors du moule, la section de cadre rigide séquentielle suivante, qui est reliée à la section de cadre rigide précédente, est déplacée dans le moule. Le cycle est répété autant de fois que nécessaire pour former le CWP renforcé continu ayant une longueur souhaitée.
