Abstract:
(EN) This disclosure concerns a jelly-roll type battery cell that has a hollow core and no rigid outer casing, and a method of making such a battery cell. The battery cell in at least some embodiments comprises a pair of electrodes wound together around a hollow core, a plurality of electrode tabs, each coupled to a separate one of the electrodes, and a flexible outer wrapper enclosing the pair of electrodes.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un élément de batterie du type à électrodes enroulées en spirale, qui présente un noyau creux et ne possède pas de boîtier externe rigide, et un procédé de fabrication d'un tel élément de batterie. Dans au moins certains modes de réalisation, l’élément de batterie comprend deux électrodes enroulées ensemble autour d'un noyau creux, une pluralité de languettes d'électrode qui sont chacune reliées à une électrode distincte, et une enveloppe externe souple entourant les deux électrodes.
