The present invention relates to a modular multilevel converter (MMC) and, more particularly, to a MMC converter comprising a preliminary sub-module which is provided between an upper converter arm of the MMC converter and a lower converter arm thereof, and which can be commonly used for the upper converter arm and the lower converter arm. An MMC converter according to the present invention comprises: upper and lower converter arms, each of which comprises a plurality of sub-modules connected in series to each other; and a preliminary sub-module connected between the upper and lower converter arms. The preliminary sub-module comprises: an energy storage portion for storing a DC voltage inside the sub-modules; a first semiconductor switch connected in parallel to the energy storage portion; a second semiconductor switch connected in series to the first semiconductor switch; a third semiconductor switch connected in series to the second semiconductor switch; and a switching control portion for controlling on/off switching of the first to third semiconductor switches. The middle point (N1) between the first semiconductor switch and the second semiconductor switch is connected to the sub-modules of the upper converter arm. The middle point (N2) between the second semiconductor switch and the third semiconductor switch is connected to a load connection terminal of the MMC converter. The middle point (N3) between the third semiconductor switch and the energy storage portion is connected to the sub-modules of the lower converter arm.

La présente invention concerne un convertisseur multiniveau modulaire (MMC) et, plus particulièrement, un convertisseur MMC comprenant un sous-module préliminaire qui est disposé entre un bras de convertisseur supérieur du convertisseur MMC et un bras de convertisseur inférieur de celui-ci, et qui peut être couramment utilisé pour le bras de convertisseur supérieur et le bras de convertisseur inférieur. Un convertisseur MMC selon la présente invention comprend : des bras de convertisseur supérieur et inférieur, dont chacun comprend une pluralité de sous-modules connectés en série les uns aux autres; et un sous-module préliminaire connecté entre les bras de convertisseur supérieur et inférieur. Le sous-module préliminaire comprend : une partie de stockage d'énergie pour stocker une tension continue à l'intérieur des sous-modules; un premier commutateur à semi-conducteur connecté en parallèle à la partie de stockage d'énergie; un deuxième commutateur à semi-conducteur connecté en série au premier commutateur à semi-conducteur; un troisième commutateur à semi-conducteur connecté en série au deuxième commutateur à semi-conducteur; et une partie de commande de commutation pour commander la commutation marche/arrêt des premier à troisième commutateurs à semi-conducteur. Le point médian (N1) entre le premier commutateur à semi-conducteur et le second commutateur à semi-conducteur est connecté aux sous-modules du bras de convertisseur supérieur. Le point médian (N2) entre le deuxième commutateur à semi-conducteur et le troisième commutateur à semi-conducteur est connecté à une borne de connexion de charge du convertisseur MMC. Le point médian (N3) entre le troisième commutateur à semi-conducteur et la partie de stockage d'énergie est connecté aux sous-modules du bras de convertisseur inférieur.

본 발명은 MMC(Modular Multilevel Converter) 컨버터에 관한 것으로서, 더욱 상세하게는 MMC 컨버터의 상위 컨버터 암과 하위 컨버터 암의 사이에 구비되어 상위 컨버터 암과 하위 컨버터 암에 공통적으로 사용 가능한 예비 서브모듈을 포함하는 MMC 컨버터에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 각각 서로 직렬연결된 복수의 서브모듈로 구성된 상위 및 하위 컨버터 암과 상기 상위 및 하위 컨버터 암 사이에 연결된 예비 서브모듈을 포함하는 MMC 컨버터에 있어서, 상기 예비 서브모듈은, 상기 서브모듈 내부에 DC전압을 저장하는 에너지저장부; 상기 에너지저장부에 병렬로 연결된 제1반도체 스위치; 상기 제1반도체 스위치에 직렬로 연결된 제2반도체 스위치; 상기 제2반도체 스위치에 직렬로 연결된 제3반도체 스위치; 및 상기 제1 내지 제3반도체 스위치의 온/오프(ON/OFF) 스위칭을 제어하는 스위칭 제어부; 를 포함하고, 상기 제1반도체 스위치와 상기 제2반도체 스위치의 중간점(N1)은 상기 상위 컨버터 암의 서브모듈과 연결되고,상기 제2반도체 스위치와 상기 제3반도체 스위치의 중간점(N2)은 상기 MMC 컨버터의 부하접속단자와 연결되고, 상기 제3반도체 스위치와 상기 에너지저장부의 중간점(N3)은 상기 하위 컨버터 암의 서브모듈과 연결된다.
