Title: BATTERY PACKAGING MATERIAL, AND BATTERY
Abstract:
Provided is a battery packaging material which exhibits excellent mouldability, and in which pin holes and cracks do not readily form in an aluminium alloy foil, even after moulding of the battery packaging material. The battery packaging material is formed from a laminate having at least a base material layer, an aluminium alloy foil, and a heat-fusible resin layer provided in that order. The ratio of the thickness Y from the surface of the aluminium alloy foil at the base material layer side to the surface of the laminate at the base material layer side, to the thickness X of the aluminium alloy foil is in the range of 0.50-2.40 inclusive. The number average crystal grain size R (µm) of crystals in a face-centered cubic lattice structure, said number average crystal grain size being acquired by performing crystal analysis using the electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) method, on a cross section obtained by cutting the aluminium alloy foil in a vertical direction from the surface of the aluminium alloy foil, said vertical direction being the rolling direction of the aluminium alloy foil, satisfies the formula number average crystal grain size R ≤ 0.056X+2.0, where X = the thickness (µm) of the aluminium alloy foil.
