The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing 1,3-dioxane-5-ones by a short and simple method from raw materials that can be obtained easily and inexpensively, using 1,3-dioxane, which is a mixture with 1,3-dioxalans, as a raw material. Provided is a method for manufacturing 1,3-dioxane-5-ones, using a mixture of a compound represented by formula (I) and a compound represented by formula (II) as a raw material, the method comprising a step (step 2) in which the mixture is oxidized under oxidative esterification conditions. (In formula (I) and formula (II), R1 and R2 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a monovalent hydrocarbon group, or R1 and R2 represent a divalent hydrocarbon group in which a ring structure is formed by mutual bonding of R1 and R2.)

L’invention concerne un procédé destiné à fabriquer des 1,3-dioxane-5-ones au moyen d’étapes courtes et d’un procédé simple, à partir d’une matière première consistant en des 1,3-dioxanes tels que des 1,3-dioxolanes sont mélangés, et pouvant se procurer simplement et selon un coût modéré. Plus précisément, l’invention concerne un procédé de fabrication 1,3-dioxane-5-ones ayant pour matière première un mélange d’un composé représenté par la formule (I) et d’un composé représenté par la formule (II), et présentant une étape (étape 2) au cours de laquelle ledit mélange est oxydé sous des conditions d’estérification oxydante. (Dans la formule (I) et la formule (II), soit R et R représentent chacun indépendamment un atome d’hydrogène ou un groupe hydrocarbure monovalent, soit R et R représentent des groupes hydrocarbure divalent formant des structures cycliques liées l’une à l’autre.)
