Abstract:
This electrophotographic photosensitive body (1) is provided with a conductive substrate (2) and a photosensitive layer (3). The photosensitive layer (3) is a single layer-type photosensitive layer (3c) comprising a charge-generating agent, a hole transport agent, an electron transport agent, and a binder resin. The binder resin contains a polyarylate resin represented by general formula (1). In general formula (1), Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4 each represent a methyl group or a hydrogen atom. r, s, t, and u each represent a number between 15 and 35 inclusive. X and y are divalent groups represented by chemical formula (2A), chemical formula (2B), chemical formula (2C), or chemical formula (2D). The hole transport agent is represented by general formulas (HTM1) to (HTM7). The scratch resistance depth of the photosensitive layer (3) is 0.50 µm or less. The Vickers hardness of the photosensitive layer (3) is 17.0 HV or less.
