Abstract:
(EN) The present invention relates to hydrophilic-hydrophobic patterned metallic grassland surfaces grown in air for capturing atmospheric humidity. The said surfaces were created from silver nanowires (AgNWs), synthesized under ambient conditions at room temperature using electrospray deposition-based technique. The hydrophilic-hydrophobic patterned Ag nanobrushes comprise of three distinct regions - (i) the Ag-core, (ii) hydrophobic coating with fluorothiol (FT) on the Ag-core and (iii) tiny hydrophilic regions (Ag nanoparticles, Ag NPs) on the hydrophobic background. Ag core gives the strength to the brushes, while the FT coating creates the hydrophobic background. Further, Ag deposition on this resulted in Ag NPs decoration all over the nanobrushes. These Ag NPs, embedded in the FT layer, act as hydrophilic zones, responsible for condensation of atmospheric humidity.
(FR) La présente invention concerne des surfaces métalliques à motifs hydrophiles-hydrophobes cultivées dans de l'air pour capturer l'humidité atmosphérique. Lesdites surfaces ont été créées à partir de nanofils d'argent (AgNW), synthétisés dans des conditions ambiantes à la température ambiante au moyen d'une technique basée sur un dépôt par électronébulisation. Les nanobrosses Ag à motifs hydrophiles-hydrophobes comprennent trois régions distinctes : (i) le noyau-Ag, (ii) un revêtement hydrophobe au fluorothiol (FT) sur le noyau-Ag et (iii) de minuscules régions hydrophiles (nanoparticules Ag, Ag NP) sur l'arrière-plan hydrophobe. Le noyau Ag confère une résistance aux brosses, tandis que le revêtement FT crée l'arrière-plan hydrophobe. En outre, le dépôt Ag sur ce dernier a conduit à la décoration Ag NP sur toutes les nanobrosses. Ces Ag NP, noyés dans la couche FT, agissent en tant que zones hydrophiles, responsables de la condensation de l'humidité atmosphérique.
