There is provided a system, comprising: internal probe(s) for transmitting and/or receiving an RF signal, the internal probe(s) set to be mounted on an elongated guiding element set for insertion via the pharynx into a tract of a patient, the internal probe(s) and elongated guiding element are configured to be directly inserted into the tract independently of another guiding device; external probe(s) which is set to be positioned in a location outside the body for transmitting and/or receiving an RF signal; a processing unit configured to analyze an RF signal transmitted between transducer(s) of the internal probe(s) and transducer(s) of the external probe(s), propagating via tissue(s) of the patient between walls of the tract and a skin layer of the patient, to estimate at least one dielectric property of the tissue(s); wherein the RF signals are unsuitable for generating anatomical images of the tissue(s).

L'invention concerne un système, comprenant : une ou des sonde(s) interne(s) pour émettre et/ou recevoir un signal RF, la ou les sonde(s) interne(s) étant destinée(s) à être montée(s) sur un ensemble d'éléments de guidage allongé destiné à être inséré dans le tractus d'un patient via le pharynx, la ou les sonde(s) interne(s) et l'élément de guidage allongé étant configurés pour être directement insérés dans le tractus indépendamment d'un autre dispositif de guidage ; une ou des sonde(s) externe(s) destinée(s) à être positionnée(s) au niveau d'un emplacement à l'extérieur du corps pour émettre et/ou recevoir un signal RF ; une unité de traitement configurée pour analyser un signal RF transmis entre un ou des transducteur(s) de la ou des sonde(s) interne(s) et un ou des transducteur(s) de la ou des sonde(s) externe(s), se propageant au travers du ou des tissu(s) du patient entre les parois du tractus et la couche cutanée du patient, afin d'estimer au moins une propriété diélectrique du ou des tissu(s) ; les signaux RF n'étant pas utilisables pour générer des images anatomiques du ou des tissu(s).
