Abstract:
A method for recapturing sulfur in a chemical looping system (10)includes the steps of receiving a flue gas stream (20) containing a sulfur-containing species, in a heat exchanger (210), reducing a temperature of the flue gas stream (20), introducing a calcium-based makeup material (216) to the reduced temperature flue gas stream (214), capturing the sulfur-containing species from the reduced temperature flue gas stream (214), and recycling the sulfur-containing species to a reducer (12) of the chemical looping system (10).
