Abstract:
A liquid crystal display device and a driving method therefor. The driving method comprises: displaying each picture by two frames of images in order (S110), two adjacent sub-pixels on each frame of image being different in driving voltage, and the first frame of image and the second frame of image of each sub-pixel being different in driving voltage; determining a backlight brightness regulating signal of each backlight subarea according to driving voltages of a first frame of image area and a second frame of image area corresponding to each backlight subarea (S120), the backlight brightness regulating signals being grouped signals, the number of groups of the signals being equal to the number of varieties of the color sub-pixels; calculating an average color purity of a current picture area corresponding to each backlight subarea (S130); determining whether the average color purity of each backlight subarea is within a preset range or not (S140); and if so, conducting brightness regulation on backlight sources in the backlight subareas of various frames of images of the next picture according to the backlight brightness regulating signals of the backlight subareas (S150).
