Title: NEUTRON SHIELDING MATERIAL FOR USE IN PLASTIC PIPES
Abstract:
A neutron shielding material for use in plastic pipes, comprising the following raw material components in parts by weight: 100 parts of PVC, 15-20 parts of urea formaldehyde resin, 19-24 parts of polytetrafluoroethylene gum, 5-12 parts of a hindered phenol antioxidant, 5-9 parts of a plasticizer, 9-14 parts of a heat stabilizer, and 5-8 parts of an adsorbent. The neutron shielding material has good shielding performance: a 2 cm thick shielding material can reduce a fast neutron dose rate by 82%, reduce an intermediate neutron dose rate by 95%, and reduce a slow neutron dose rate by 98%. Furthermore, the neutron shielding material has a high tensile strength, flexural strength, and notch impact strength, and a high oxygen index.
