Abstract:
The aim of the invention is to provide a method and an assembly for continuously ascertaining the geometric characteristic variables of chain links and link chains so as to allow a short-term prediction of the measurement tendencies in the production process and thus reduce the production of waste to a minimum. According to the invention, the geometric characteristic variables of chain links and link chains are ascertained using an optical measuring method and a subsequent calculating process. The optical measurement is implemented by scanning the visible edges. Thus, the production can be permanently controlled by measuring all of the produced chain links in a production cycle.
