Title: METHOD FOR EXFOLIATING HEXAGONAL BORON NITRIDE (H-BN) BY MEANS OF BALL MILLING
Abstract:
The method relates to the field of nanomaterials. Specifically disclosed is a method or exfoliating hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) by means of ball milling. The method specifically comprises: mixing raw materials, i.e., h-BN powder, a surfactant, and a ball milling medium, for dissolving, the mass ratio of the h-BN powder to the surfactant being 1:1 to 500:1, and the mass ratio of h-BN to the ball milling medium being 2:1 to 1:10, and performing closed ball milling at a ball milling speed of 200-800 rpm; continuing to add the above ball milling medium after ball milling for every period of time, the amount of the ball milling medium added being 5%-40% of the mass percentage of h-BN, and the total ball milling time being 120-480 h; after the ball milling is completed, washing the resulting powder using an alcohol, and then drying to obtain an h-BN dispersion. The method can effectively exfoliate h-BN particles; the produced h-BN has the characteristics of uniform particles, fewer layers, large area, and high purity, and can be well dispersed in an alcohol and other solvents and stored for tens of days without agglomeration and sedimentation.
