Abstract:
Disclosed in the present application is a connection establishment method for a space division multiplexing (SDM) network. The method comprises: a first node receives a path message, the path message comprising multiple first label objects, each first label object comprising a first field used for indicating the number of an optical core of a multi-core optical fiber, and the path message being also used for indicating idle spectrum information of each optical core in the multi-core optical fiber; and the first node performs intersection between the idle spectrum information of each optical core indicated by the path message and idle spectrum information of a corresponding optical core on a first link, and sends, through the first link, the path message carrying the result of the intersection, the first link being a link between the first node and a neighboring node in a direction from the first node to a second node. The solution provided in the present application can support an SDM network based on a multi-core optical fiber, the implementation is simple, and the reliability is high.
