Abstract:
(EN) Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a launching device including a transmitter configured to generate a radio frequency signal in a microwave frequency band. A helical antenna is configured to launch the radio frequency signal as a guided electromagnetic wave that is bound to an outer surface of a transmission medium, wherein the guided electromagnetic wave propagates along the outer surface of the transmission medium without an electrical return path. Other embodiments are disclosed.
(FR) Des aspects de la présente invention peuvent concerner, par exemple, un dispositif de lancement comprenant un émetteur conçu pour générer un signal radiofréquence sur une bande de fréquences micro-ondes. Une antenne hélicoïdale est conçue pour lancer le signal radiofréquence sous la forme d'une onde électromagnétique guidée qui est liée à une surface externe d'un support de transmission, l'onde électromagnétique guidée se propageant le long de la surface externe du support de transmission sans trajet de retour électrique.
