Abstract:
(EN) Disclosed is an article comprising polymers and copolymers selected from the group consisting of poly(vinylbiphenyl), poly(vinylcyclohexylstyrene), substituted versions thereof, and blends thereof, the polymer or copolymer having a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of at least 100 kg/mole and a glass transition temperature (Tg) of at least 100°C. The polymers are desirably processed in the melted state at a temperature of at least 150°C to impart orientation and extensional strain hardening.
(FR) L'invention concerne un article comprenant des polymères et des copolymères choisis dans le groupe constitué par le poly(vinylbiphényle), le poly(vinylcyclohexylstyrène), des versions substituées de ceux-ci, et des mélanges de ceux-ci, le polymère ou le copolymère ayant un poids moléculaire moyenne en poids (Mp) d'au moins 100 kg/mol et une température de transition vitreuse (Tg) d'au moins 100 °C. Les polymères sont de préférence traités à l'état fondu à une température d'au moins 150 °C pour conférer une orientation et un écrouissage en traction.
