Abstract:
This positive electrode active material for lithium secondary batteries contains: a lithium composite metal compound that is composed of secondary particles, each of which is formed of aggregated primary particles; and a lithium-containing tungsten oxide. The lithium-containing tungsten oxide is present at least in spaces among the primary particles; and the surface area of pores within the pore diameter range of from 10 nm to 200 nm (inclusive) in the pore distribution of this positive electrode active material for lithium secondary batteries as determined by a mercury intrusion method is from 0.4 m2/g to 3.0 m2/g (inclusive).
