Disclosed are an ammonium borofluoride compound, an ammonium borofluoride non-linear optical crystal and a preparation method and use thereof. The compound has a chemical formula of NH4B4O6F, a molecular weight of 176.28, and is prepared by a solid-phase reaction method; the crystal has a chemical formula of NH4B4O6F, a molecular weight of 176.28, and belongs to an orthorhombic system, wherein the space group is Pna21, and the lattice parameters are a = 7.615(3)Å, b = 11.207(4)Å, c = 6.604(3)Å, Z = 4 and V = 563.6Å3. By means of the method, the NH4B4O6F non-linear optical crystal with a size on a centimeter scale is obtained; the non-linear optical crystal can be used for preparing doubling frequency or tripling frequency or quadruplicating frequency or quintupling frequency or sextupling frequency harmonic wave light output of 1064 nm fundamental frequency laser output by a Nd:YAG laser or producing output of deep ultraviolet frequency doubling light lower than 200 nm or preparing a frequency doubling generator, an upper or lower frequency converter or an optical parametric oscillator. The NH4B4O6F non-linear optical crystal has the advantages of a wider light transmittance wave band, stable physical and chemical properties, a large mechanical hardness, is not easy to fracture and deliquesce, and easy for cutting, polishing and storage, etc.
