Abstract:
Provided are: a hexagonal boron nitride powder which shows a maximum absorption peak within the range of 3530-3590 cm-1 in an infrared spectrum by the diffused reflection method within the range of 3100-3800 cm-1 and, when blended with a resin, which is capable of imparting to the resultant resin composition a high heat conductivity, high insulation resistance and excellent copper foil peeling strength; and a method for producing the aforesaid boron nitride powder, said method comprising using an oxygen-containing boron compound, a carbon source having a sulfur concentration of 1000-10000 ppm and an oxygen-containing calcium compound at a preset ratio and then reduction-nitriding the same.
