Abstract:
This mental stress detection device (10) includes an index value calculation unit (200) and a correlation calculation unit (300). The index value calculation unit (200) calculates the standard deviation (SDn) of heartbeat intervals (RRIn), the root-mean-square (RMn) of the difference (RDn) between temporally adjacent heartbeat intervals (RRIn), and the ratio(SDn/RMn) of the standard deviation (SDn) to the root-mean-square (RMn). The root-mean-square (RMn) is correlated with parasympathetic nerve activation, and the ratio (SDn/RMn) is correlated with sympathetic nerve activation. The correlation calculation unit (300) calculates the product-moment correlation coefficient (rn) which is the correlation between the root-mean-square (RMn) and the ratio (SDn/RMn) and which is associated with time.
