Abstract:
(EN) A voltage regulation circuit (2) comprises first (4) and second (6) voltage regulators each arranged to receive an input voltage (Vin) and a respective reference voltage; and first (18) and second (30) reference voltage sources arranged to provide the first and second reference voltages respectively. In a first mode of operation, the first regulator varies the regulated output voltage in response to a difference between the regulated output voltage (Vout) and the first reference voltage. In a second mode of operation, the second regulator varies the regulated output voltage in response to a difference between the regulated output voltage and the second reference voltage. The second voltage regulator is arranged to provide a greater maximum output current than the first voltage regulator. The circuit further comprises a switch portion (8) arranged to provide a third mode of operation in which the first regulator provides the regulated output voltage and the second regulator provides additional output current.
(FR) L’invention concerne un circuit de régulation de tension (2) qui comprend des premier (4) et deuxième (6) régulateurs de tension, chacun agencé pour recevoir une tension d’entrée (Vin) et une tension de référence respective ; et des première (18) et deuxième (30) sources de tension de référence servant à appliquer les première et deuxième tensions de référence respectivement. Selon un premier mode de fonctionnement, le premier régulateur fait varier la tension de sortie régulée en réponse à une différence entre la tension de sortie (Vout) régulée et la première tension de référence. Selon un deuxième mode de fonctionnement, le deuxième régulateur fait varier la tension de sortie régulée en réponse à une différence entre la tension de sortie régulée et la deuxième tension de référence. Le deuxième régulateur de tension est agencé pour appliquer un courant de sortie maximal supérieur à celui du premier régulateur de tension. Le circuit comprend en outre une partie de commutateur (8) agencée pour appliquer un troisième mode de fonctionnement dans lequel le premier régulateur applique la tension de sortie régulée et le deuxième régulateur applique un courant de sortie additionnel.
