Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for determining a position of an excavator boom (104) by means of a LIDAR-system (102) arranged on an excavator (100). A plurality of laser beams (106) are emitted in order to irradiate a plurality of measuring points (108) on the excavator boom (104). Laser beams (106) reflected by the measuring points (108) are captured and used to determine a position of the excavator boom (104) with respect to at least one reference point associated with the excavator (100).
