Abstract
(EN) The invention relates to video coding with inter-view prediction. A reconstructed depth map of a reference view is obtained, quantized according to a predetermined reference quantization. A reduced range information is obtained, wherein the reduced range information defines a reduced range of depth quantization levels available for the inter-view prediction within the range of quantization levels defined by the predetermined reference quantization. The distance information corresponding to the reduced range of depth quantization levels is enhanced by an adaptation function, which is defined based on the reduced range. The enhanced distance information is used for inter-view prediction, leading to improved coding efficiency.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un codage vidéo avec prédiction inter-vues. Une carte de profondeur reconstruite d'une vue de référence est obtenue et quantifiée selon une quantification de référence prédéfinie. Une information de plage réduite est obtenue, les informations de plage réduite définissant une plage réduite de niveaux de quantification de profondeur disponibles pour la prédiction inter-vues à l'intérieur de la plage de niveaux de quantification définie et par la quantification de référence prédéfinie. Les informations de distance correspondant à la plage réduite de niveaux de quantification de profondeur sont améliorées par une fonction d'adaptation, qui est définie sur la base de la plage réduite. Les informations de distance améliorées sont utilisées pour une prédiction inter-vues, conduisant à une efficacité de codage améliorée.
