Title: METHOD FOR PREPARING LIQUID SAMPLE OF CARBON-14 IN RADIOACTIVE GRAPHITE
Abstract:
Provided is a method for preparing a liquid sample of carbon-14 in radioactive graphite, the method comprising: providing a sealed reaction vessel, wherein there is a tritium-containing water vapour adsorption device (110) inside the reaction vessel so that the interior space of the reaction vessel is divided into a first space (115) and a second space (116), and a radioactive graphite sample is provided in the first space, and a carbon dioxide absorption liquid (109) is provided in the second space; filling the sealed reaction vessel with a combustion-supporting gas, so that the pressure inside the reaction vessel reaches 1-4 MPa; burning the radioactive graphite sample in the combustion-supporting gas to form tritium-containing water vapour and carbon dioxide gas in the first space (115); maintaining for a period of time to allow the tritium-containing water vapour and carbon dioxide gas to pass through the adsorption device (110) and diffuse toward the second space (116), wherein the tritium-containing water vapour is absorbed by the adsorption device (110) and the carbon dioxide gas is absorbed by the absorption liquid (109); and venting the sealed reaction vessel.
