(EN)The invention relates to bacterial infections, vaccines directed against those infections and bacterial vaccines. More particularly, the invention relates to vaccines directed against Streptococcus infections in pigs. Provided is a ΔFolT mutant of a bacterium having reduced capacity to transport folate, wherein the capacity has been reduced by functionally deleting folate transporter (FolT) function. Also provided is a method to reduce virulence of a bacterium comprising reducing the capacity of the bacterium to transport folate.
(FR)L'invention concerne des infections bactériennes, des vaccins dirigés contre ces infections et des vaccins bactériens. Plus particulièrement, l'invention concerne des vaccins dirigés contre des infections à Streptococcus chez le porc. L'invention concerne un mutant ΔFolT d'une bactérie présentant une capacité réduite à transporter le folate, la capacité ayant été réduite par suppression fonctionnelle de la fonction du transporteur de folate (FolT). L'invention concerne également une méthode visant à réduire la virulence d'une bactérie, comprenant la réduction de la capacité de la bactérie à transporter le folate.
