Abstract:
(EN) Provided herein is a quick disconnect torch handle (12) for use in a plasma arc system (1). In one approach, the plasma arc system (1) includes a lead (6) having a first end (3) connected to a power source (2) and a second end (7) connected to a torch handle (12). The quick disconnect (16) is located at a proximal end (22) of the torch handle (12), and may include at least one signal connection, a pilot connection, a fluid connection, and a main power connection. The fluid and main power connection may be formed by a connection between a main power socket (37) and a conductive conduit (33). Specifically, the main power socket (37) includes a conductive spring (40) and an O-ring (41) encircling an interior bore (42) thereof. Removal of the conductive conduit (33) from the main power socket (37) causes the fluid connection to break between the O-ring (41) and the conductive conduit (33), and then the main power connection to break between the conductive spring (40) and the conductive conduit (33).
