Abstract:
(EN) The disclosure relates to a hardbanding removal apparatus and method for use with oilfield tubulars and downhole tools. The apparatus includes a tiltable frame with support arm, a grinding wheel coupled to the support arm, and an idler wheel assembly to supply mechanical feedback to the grinding wheel through the support arm. The mechanical feedback allows the grinding wheel to remove hardbanding accurately and uniformly on tubulars that are eccentric, curved, or have eccentric hardbanding. The tiltable frame enables grinding of tapered sections of the tubular without reorienting the tubular. The method includes removing hardbanding using the apparatus.
(FR) L'invention concerne un appareil et un procédé d'élimination de rechargement dur destinés à être utilisés pour des tubulaires de champ pétrolifère et des outils de fond de trou. L'appareil comprend un bâti inclinable doté d'un bras de support, d'une meule couplée au bras de support et d'un ensemble roue libre destiné à fournir une rétroaction mécanique à la meule par l'intermédiaire du bras de support. La rétroaction mécanique permet à la meule d'éliminer précisément et uniformément un rechargement dur de tubulaires excentriques, incurvés ou présentant un rechargement dur excentrique. Le bâti inclinable permet un meulage de sections biseautées du tubulaire sans réorientation du tubulaire. Le procédé consiste à éliminer un rechargement dur au moyen de l'appareil.
