The invention relates to dry-compressing 2-shaft rotational displacement machines for conveying and compressing gases for use in a vacuum and overpressure. According to the invention, in order to improve effectiveness and reliability in spindle compressors with a greater axial spacing on the conveyed gas inlet side (10) than on the conveyed gas outlet side (11), each spindle rotor (2) is provided with a preferably double-start coolant screw thread (7) in addition to the known gas-conveying outer thread (4), said double-start coolant screw thread having a pitch angle that is at least double the size of the pitch angle of the gas-conveying outer thread of this spindle rotor, wherein the pitch of the coolant screw thread (7) is oriented opposite the thread pitch of the gas-conveying outer thread, and the surfaces (30) of the coolant screw thread heads (19) are firmly seated against the support shaft (3) such that all together they brace the rotor torque and the bending moments applied by the conveyed gas to the support shaft (3), and that an overflow-compensation groove inner thread (8) is worked into the coolant screw thread heads (19), which is configured as an at least double-start screw thread having a thread pitch oriented opposite to the coolant screw thread pitch of this spindle rotor and the overflow thread groove depth tü...i is configured as a (preferably) V-shaped groove for the prevention of imbalance caused by uneven coolant filling of each coolant screw thread groove (18).
