(EN)A composite wheel assembly and method of construction thereof is provided. The composite wheel assembly includes a wheel having an inwardly facing surface, an outwardly facing surface, a generally cylindrical barrel portion, and a plurality of apertures formed about a central hub aperture. At least one wheel cladding is fixedly bonded to at least one of the inwardly facing surface, the outwardly facing surface, and the generally cylindrical barrel portion. The wheel cladding increases the stiffness and/or strength of the wheel between about 2-16% or greater as compared to the wheel not having the at least one cladding.
(FR)L'invention concerne un ensemble roue composite et son procédé de construction. L'ensemble roue composite comprend une roue ayant une surface tournée vers l'intérieur, une surface tournée vers l'extérieur, une partie de fût globalement cylindrique et une pluralité d'ouvertures formées autour d'une ouverture du moyeu central. Au moins un revêtement de roue est lié de manière fixe à la surface tournée vers l'intérieur et/ou à la surface tournée vers l'extérieur et/ou à la partie de fût globalement cylindrique. Le revêtement de roue augmente la rigidité et/ou la résistance de la roue d'au moins 2 à 16 % environ par rapport à une roue dépourvue dudit au moins un revêtement.
