Title: METHOD OF STIMULATING WELLS BY INJECTING GAS COMPOSITIONS
Abstract:
The invention relates to the oil and gas production industry and is intended to increase the economic efficiency of hydrocarbon production and to include new categories of reserves in exploitation by means of well stimulation. A method of stimulating wells by injecting a gas composition into the near-wellbore region of a formation is proposed, in which a gas composition is formed of three streams, said composition containing a propane-butane mixture, natural gas or associated gas and nitrogen, which are mixed before injection, wherein the streams are controlled such that the molar composition of the components of the gas composition and the injection rate and volume of the composition can be adjusted in order to provide a gas composition temperature T1 that is below critical and an injection pressure P1 that is above critical. Prior to injection of the gas composition, buffer nitrogen or a propane-butane mixture can be pumped through the production tubing string to provide increased phase permeability of the formation. In addition, a pill of highly mineralized process water with added inhibitors for preventing hydrate formation in the cavity of the production tubing string can be pumped into the well as a final slug. For carbonate formations, a hydrochloric acid slug mixed with a mutual organic solvent is additionally introduced into the stream of the gas composition. The invention makes it possible to implement a technically effective and economically viable alternative to the traditional hydraulic fracturing method using process water. The novel method of gas stimulation of the near-wellbore region of a formation represents a modern and highly viable rival to traditional well stimulation methods.
