Abstract:
This disclosure relates to phantoms for the calibration and quality assurance of radiation therapy systems, including biologically-guided radiation therapy systems, which deliver doses of radiation in response to real-time detected PET lines-of-response (LORs). The phantoms disclosed herein are modular phantoms that comprise a cylindrical housing with a plurality of disks stacked within the housing and a plurality of radiographic films. Some disks have a background region and a target region, where the rate of positron emissions of the target region is higher than for the background region. The disks may be arranged and rearranged within the housing to attain a desired target region shape.
