Abstract:
(EN) An example method for measuring the amount of build material in a build material container of a 3D printer may comprise mounting a belt element tensioned between at least two shafts, and attaching a body to the belt element; driving the body towards a surface of the build material while measuring the advance and the speed of the belt element; detecting a reduction of the speed of the belt element, and determining that the body has then contacted the surface of the build material; and determining the position of the surface of the build material based at least on the measured advance of the belt element.
(FR) L'invention concerne un exemple de procédé pour mesurer la quantité de matériau de construction dans un récipient de matériau de construction d'une imprimante 3D qui peut comprendre le montage d'un élément de type courroie tendu entre au moins deux axes, et la fixation d'un corps à l'élément de type courroie ; le rapprochement du corps vers une surface du matériau de construction tout en mesurant l'avance et la vitesse de l'élément de type courroie ; la détection d'une réduction de la vitesse de l'élément de type courroie et la détermination que le corps est alors entré en contact avec la surface du matériau de construction ; et la détermination de la position de la surface du matériau de construction en se basant au moins sur l'avance mesurée de l'élément de type courroie.
