Abstract:
Various embodiments of the present invention relate to an electronic device capable of reducing battery consumption, and a method for controlling the operation of the electronic device. The electronic device may include: one or more environment sensors; and one or more processors, wherein the one or more processors are functionally connected to the one or more environment sensors and control the one or more environment sensors to collect environment information at a predetermined interval, and the one or more processors are configured to identify whether or not a user is present on the basis of the collected environment information, and control the operation of the electronic device according to whether or not the user is present. Various other embodiments are possible.
