Abstract:
An optical receiver for demodulating an optical modulated signal to the baseband signal of an electric signal and decoding a received symbol obtained by converting the baseband signal. The optical receiver is provided with: an analog-digital converter for converting the baseband signal to a digital signal so that the number of samples per received symbol is M/N (sample/symbol) (M and N are positive integers) and the M/N (sample/symbol) is not an integer and satisfies M > N; and an adaptive equalization processing unit for performing a predetermined equalization arithmetic on the basis of the digital signal in which the number of samples per received symbol is M/N (sample/symbol) and a tap coefficient for prescribed tap coefficient digital signal equalization used in signal equalization, the value of which is updated in a discretionary sampling cycle, and thereby outputting a received symbol.
