Abstract:
(EN) A vibro-acoustography imaging system that that generates a map of the mechanical response of a target to an acoustic radiation force, usually in low kHz range by a confocal geometry. The system generates two focused sinusoidal beams to produce a stress field at the beat frequency, which is a function of vibration and acoustic emissions field in terms of mechanical properties. A highly sensitive hydrophone is then used for detection of the acoustic emissions field, the amplitude of which may be correlated to the mechanical properties of the target tissue.
(FR) L'invention concerne un système d'imagerie vibro-acoustographique qui génère une carte de la réponse mécanique d'une cible à une force de rayonnement acoustique, généralement dans une plage de bas kHz à l'aide d'une géométrie confocale. Le système génère deux faisceaux sinusoïdaux focalisés pour produire un champ de contrainte à la fréquence de battement, qui est une fonction du champ des émissions de vibration et acoustiques en termes de propriétés mécaniques. Un hydrophone hautement sensible est ensuite utilisé pour la détection du champ d'émissions acoustiques, dont l'amplitude peut être corrélée aux propriétés mécaniques du tissu cible.
