Abstract:
A positioning system 1 includes: a plurality of receivers 20-A, 20-B, etc.; and a computation circuit 31 that receives data indicating the reception strength of signal waves from the receivers, calculates an inverse matrix of a four-dimensional or five-dimensional regular square matrix Q satisfying the relational expression, matrix Q ⋅ vector p = vector s (where, vector p is a vector that includes, as components, the coordinate components of a wave source position from a prescribed reference position, and vector s is a vector obtained by aligning the squares of distances from the prescribed reference position to the receivers), and also applies the calculated inverse matrix to the vector s to calculate the coordinate components of the wave source included in the vector p. The matrix Q and the vector p include a variable obtained by substituting a non-linear term with a linear term. The computation circuit 31 finds the inverse matrix of the matrix Q, which includes a row or column component obtained by multiplying the ratio of the reception strength of a prescribed receiver to the reception strengths of the other receivers with a second linear component.
