The lockup device (7) has an annular pressure receiving part (31), a piston (32), and a damper mechanism (33). The annular pressure receiving part (31) is provided so as to protrude further to the outside in the radial direction from an outer circumferential end of a turbine (4). The piston (32) is disposed to be movable in the axial direction between a front cover (2) and the turbine (4), and has, on an outer circumference part thereof, a friction part (32b) that is pressed against the pressure receiving part (31) of the turbine (4) to enable frictional engagement. The damper mechanism (33) transmits torque from the front cover (2) to the piston (32).
