Abstract:
Provided are: a power supply circuit that generates a plurality of different voltages from a battery voltage, while suppressing power loss; and a thermal printing device that is provided with the power supply circuit. A power supply circuit 30 is provided with: a boost regulator 32 that boosts a battery voltage Vb of a battery 31 to a first voltage V1 for the purpose of supplying a first load 41 with the battery voltage Vb; a step-down regulator 33 that steps down the battery voltage Vb or the first voltage V1 to a second voltage V2 for the purpose of supplying a second load 42 with the battery voltage Vb or the first voltage V1; a switch element 34 capable of performing switching between a first state wherein the step-down regulator 33 is not supplied with the first voltage V1, and a second state wherein the step-down regulator 33 is supplied with the first voltage V1; and a control unit 35, which detects load current fluctuation due to an instantaneous change of the first load 41, and which switches the state of the switch element 34 from the first state to the second state on the basis of the detected fluctuation.
